Three Seasons
The series of views taken from the panoramic viewpoint in San Rocco (Madesimo) has been enriched with the springtime, when the last snows are still on the top of the mountains. All these photos are obtained by assembling 15 hand-held shots, resulting in files larger than 140 megapixels, which could be plotted on a one metre wide poster in finest resolution.
On the floor of the Spluga valley is lake of Isola (1206 m), a basin formed by a dam on the stream Liro, in winter it is partially frozen, in summer it takes on a greenish tone. Over the lake is the hamlet Isola, part of municipality of Madesimo. The mountains above are the Lepontine Alps, the western ridge that draws the border with Switzerland.
